Our weaving partner is a social enterprise that works with talented rural artisans in India to connect their skills with clients like us.

Many of these artisans are women who would be unable to work outside the home and are given an income through the organisation, who delivers dyed yarns to weavers and picks up the completed rugs.

Wool is a hard wearing material that will stand the test of time if you care for it in the right way. These simple instructions outline how best to take care of it.

Unpack your rug as soon after it’s delivered to settle any creases from being folded or rolled up. The sooner you unpack it, the sooner it will settle and creases and folds from transporting the rug will gradually disappear.

Vacuum your rug regularly to keep it clean, but do it carefully so you don’t wear down the knots and fibers. We recommend using the flat nozzle attachment on a low power setting and avoid using any fittings with a brush.

Attend to any stains immediately. For dry stains we recommend scraping using a blunt object like a spoon or back of a knife and then vacuum up the remains. Be careful not to damage the fibres.

For wet stains, promptly absorb as much as possible with a paper towel without adding water. If still needed, dab lightly with a clean undyed cloth, colourless detergent (soap or laundry detergent) and lukewarm water. Be careful not to wet the rug too much, as this can cause the rug to shrink and lose its shape. Never rub the stain, as that makes it more difficult to remove. Rubbing can also spread the stain, and can damage the fibres.

Avoid bleach, harsh chemicals, or alkaline household products as it will discolour or damage wool.
