Afternoon is our quest to make
it easier to make your space your own.
We’ve collected quality things that we love, made
by artisans and family businesses with stories to
tell. Some pieces are designed by us, made in
partnership with them. Some are entirely of their
creation. All are made with natural materials like
wool, linen, clay and cotton.
These are pieces that will live long, weaving
themselves into the stories of your home.
A labour of love
Late Afternoon is the work of two old friends,
Claire and Rose, living in different cities but on a
perpetual search for domestic treasure.
Gradually brought to life over cañas and
croquetas in Madrid, and cups of tea in London,
the brand launched just at the end of a pandemic
lockdown, with a newborn baby at every meeting.
Stumped by unattainable luxury and dismayed by
cheap throw-away high street homogeny, we
believe in a new way, where quality and
accessibility converge.
Character, craftsmanship and love are the
ingredients of heirlooms-to-be, and we hope

Heirlooms-to-be
Our mouth-blown glass and hand-painted tableware is made by artisans with centuries of experience, bearing the special feel of hand-making. These skills, combined with materials and techniques create unique pieces designed to stand the test of time.
We’re B-Corp pending
The Pending B Corp status gives start-ups and smaller companies time to prepare for the rigorous process of full B Corp Certification. For us, this is about setting a responsible course and building in the right direction, from reusing packaging to choosing organic cotton.
We don’t do sales
Our ethos is all about bringing you unique, quality pieces at an accessible price. Our prices are set fairly all year round and our margins are carefully considered to be as fair as we can possibly make them. At the end of each January, we have a Seconds & Samples Sale for subscribers to The List, our mailer community.
