How To Create An Easy Winter Bouquet

Create a chic winter bouquet that will last the season

It’s that moment of the year where thoughts turn to decorating the house for the season.

A big, gorgeous bouquet of flowers or greenery is one way to make a big impact in a home of any size and especially at Christmas. By choosing seasonal colours you can really change the feel of a room.

We’ve pulled together a very chic and easy to achieve idea for you to try.

The added bonus is that this will last the whole season as these flowers are very long-lasting.

Consider visiting a flower market to benefit from better pricing

If you're decorating your home for Christmas using greenery and flowers you could consider shopping for them at a flower market, like New Covent Garden in London. You can buy large bunches of flowers or greenery at prices that pay off when you're decorating more rooms for Christmas. And there is a large range of plants, greenery and dried flowers to choose from.

We selected large hydrangea heads in a dramatic burgundy as hydragea are great for drying and last a very long time once dried out. We paired them with small, white waxflower which is also sturdy and longlasting, as well as euclyptus for greenery.

Choose plants for colour, structure and longevity

We selected large hydrangea heads in a dramatic burgundy as hydragea are great for drying and last a very long time once dried out. You can dry them by simply allowing the water they are sitting in to evaporate over time, leaving them preserved and with a lifespan of a year or more.

We paired them with small, white waxflower (pictured here) which is also sturdy and longlasting. The small delicate flowers offset the large blooms and the strong stalks provide structure.

Finally, we used eucalyptus for greenery, which is delicate and has a slightly silvery quality, as well as a fragrant smell.
